dc.description.abstractTürkiye’nin yakın tarihini şekillendiren en önemli gerilim hatlarından birini gelenek ve yenilenme karşısında takınılan tutum oluşturmaktadır. Bir uçta ülkeyi selamete erdirmenin yolunu, güncel tarihi ve toplumsal gerçekliğe körleşecek seviyede geleneğe bağlanmakta arayanlar, diğer uçta ise İslami geleneği ve bu geleneğin tezahürü olan kurumları büsbütün tasfiye etmekte görenler vardı. Bu yeniden şekillenme sürecinde doğrudan sorumluluk üstlenen ve bu ülkenin milli marşını yazan Mehmed Akif ise milletin kimliğini belirleyen ilkelerden vazgeçmeden tarihi-toplumsal gerçeklikle sağlıklı bir ilişki kurmanın mümkün olduğuna inanıyordu. Akif’in bu yaklaşımını hangi esaslar üzerine temellendirdiğini açıklığa kavuşturmak Türkiye’nin düşünce ve siyaset muhitlerinde halen güncelliğini koruyan bu gerilimin anlaşılmasına da katkı sunacaktır. Oysa Akif üzerine yapılan çalışmalar onun gelenek ve yenilenme gerilime dair düşüncelerinden çok yetişmesinde etkili olan kişilere, ailesine ve şahsiyetine odaklanmaktadır. Elinizdeki makale ise mevcut çalışmalardaki bu eksikliği gidermeye, aynı zamanda onun Türk düşünce dünyasının temel gerilim hattını oluşturan gelenek ve yenilenme karşısında nasıl bir tutum sergilenmesi gerektiği hususundaki cevabını açıklığa kavuşturmaya katkıda bulunmayı amaçlamaktadır.en_US
dc.description.abstractOne of the most important tension lines that shaped Turkey's recent history is the attitude taken towards tradition and renewal. On one side, there are those who seek the path to saving the country by clinging to tradition to the extent of losing sight of current history and social reality. On the other side, there are those who completely eliminate Islamic tradition and institutions that are the manifestation of this tradition. In this process of reshaping, Mehmed Akif, who took direct responsibility and wrote the national anthem, believed that it was possible to establish a healthy relationship with historical-social reality without giving up the principles that define the identity of the nation. Understanding this tension, which still remains relevant in Turkey's intellectual and political circles, will also contribute to clarifying what principles Akif based his approach on. However, studies on Akif focus on the people, family and personality that had an impact on him rather than his thoughts on the tradition-renewal tension. This article aims to fill this gap in existing studies and contribute to clarifying how to approach the fundamental tension line of Turkish thought world between tradition and renewal, which Akif represents.
