| dc.description.abstract | The main purpose of this study is to examine the effect of treatmentmotivation levels on substance abuse behaviors of patients sent to asubstance dependence treatment program based on the decision ofSupervised Release made during a six-week psycho-educational grouptreatment program. The sample consisted of 112 participants whoapplied to the Ministry of Health Turkey, Sakarya University Trainingand Research Hospital, Psychiatry Clinic between the years 2012–2014, and were selected among patients who attended a six-weektreatment program. The Treatment Motivation Questionnaire (TMQ),Demographic Information Questionnaire and interview methods wereused in data collection. Patients with high treatment motivation levelswere found to have a low substance abuse rate, and their adaptation tothe treatment program was high. Patients who had high motivation levelsat the beginning of the treatment, had low rates of substance abuse at theend of the treatment. This trend was confirmed for all of the measuredfour sub-types of motivation. | |
| dc.description.abstract | El propósito principal de este estudio es examinar el efecto de losniveles de motivación al tratamiento en los comportamientos de abusode sustancias de los pacientes enviados a un programa de tratamientode dependencia de sustancias basado en la decisión de alta supervisadatomada durante un programa de tratamiento psicoeducativo grupal deseis semanas. La muestra fueron 112 participantes que se presentaronal Ministerio de Salud de Turquía del Hospital de Capacitación eInvestigación de la Universidad de Sakarya, Clínica de Psiquiatría entrelos años 2012-2014, y fueron seleccionados entre los pacientes queasistieron a un programa de tratamiento de seis semanas. El Cuestionariode Motivación al Tratamiento (TMQ), el Cuestionariode información demográfica y los métodos de entrevistase utilizaron en la recolección de datos. Los pacientescon altos niveles de motivación para el tratamientopresentaron una tasa baja de abuso de sustancias y suadaptación al programa de tratamiento fue alta. Lospacientes que tuvieron altos niveles de motivación alinicio del tratamiento, presentaron bajas tasas de abusode sustancias al final del mismo, esta tendencia fueconfirmada para todos los cuatro sub-tipos de motivaciónmedidos. | |
