Osmanlı sanatında resimli bir Firâsetnâme

Abstract

Bu makale Osmanlı saray tarihçisi Tâlikîzâde Mehmed Suphi’nin kaleme aldığı Firâsetnâme isimli eserin minyatürlü bir nüshasını konu edinmektedir. Bu yazma eser bugün Fransa Milli Kütüphanesi’nde (Bibliotheque Nationale de France PBNF Supplement Turc. Nr. 1055) muhafaza edilmektedir. Eser ilmü’l-firâset adı verilen ve kısaca aklî delil, tecrübe ve kıyas yolu ile insanın fiziki özelliklerinden hareket ederek onun huy ve ahlakının bilinmesi manasına gelen ilim dalı hakkındadır. Tâlikîzâde eserini Sultan III. Murad’a (1574-1595) sunmuştur. Üzerinde tarih kaydı taşımayan Firâsetnâme nüshasında hepsi aynı sanatçının elinden çıkmış beş minyatür bulunmaktadır. Minyatürlerin üslubu Nakkaş Hasan’ın üslubuna çok benzemektedir. Minyatürler yine Tâlikîzâde’nin kaleme aldığı ve Nakkaş Hasan’ın resimlediği Eğri Fetihnâmesi [TSMK H. 1609], Şehnâme-i Hümâyûn [TİEM 1965] ve Şemâilnâme-i Âl-i Osmân’da [TSMK A. 3592] yer alan minyatürler ile üslup açısından benzerdir. Firâsetnâme de Nakkaş Hasan ve tarihçi Tâlikîzâde işbirliği ile üretilmiş olmalıdır. Eserin son sayfasında yer alan III. Murad’ı işaret eden ithaf ve üslup benzerlikleri yazma eserin resimlerinin 1585 ve 1595 yılları arasında yapıldığını düşündürür. Bu makalede, resim-metin ilişkisinden hareketle Firâsetnâme minyatürlerinin ikonografik özellikleri tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Resimlerin konularına bakıldığında, firâset ilminin teorik boyutunu bir hikâye üzerin-den anlatan temaların özellikle seçildiği anlaşılmaktadır. Büyük İskender ve Filozof Aristoteles’in betimlendiği minyatürler sâdece Osmanlı sanatı değil, İslam resminde ikonografya açısından da ender örnekleri temsil etmektedir. Firâsetnâme’de yer alan tüm minyatürler Osmanlı resminde bu türe ait ikonografyanın orijinal ve nâdir örnekleridir.

The article aims to introduce an illustrated manuscript of Firāsetnāme of Tāliqizāde Mehmed Subhi who was an official historian of Ottoman court. The manuscript is preserved today in Bibliotheque Nationale de France [PBNF Supplement Turc. Nr. 1055]. The book is about “ ‘Ilm al-Firāset” which is a discipline about infering inner characters of human beings from their many kinds of external features by using rational evidences, qiyās and experiences. Tāliqizāde’s Firāsetnāme was dedicated to Sultan Murad III (r. 1574-1595). The manuscript [PBNF Supplement Turc. Nr. 1055] is undated and it has five miniatures which belong to the same artist. The style of the il-lustrations looks very similar with the works of Nakkash Hasan. The miniatures stylistically are very close the artist’s other works in Eğri Fetihnāme-si [TSMK H. 1609], Şehnāme-i Hümāyūn [TİEM 1965] and Şemāilnāme-i Āl-i Osmān [TSMK A. 3592] which are both written by Tāliqizāde as well. Firāsetnāme should be another product of the collaboration between Nakkash Hasan and Tāliqizade. The stylistic similarities refine the date of manuscript after 1585. The dedication and the praise in the last page for Sultan Murad III, strengthens the possibility that the work may have been prepared during his sultanate which ended up in 1595. The possible date for the illustrations between 1585 and 1595 is very strong. In this article it is tried to define the iconographies of the paintings by mostly considering the relation between texts and miniatures. The subjects of illustrations remind that the issues which are related with the theoretical understanding of ilm al-Firāset especially had been chosed to paint. The theoretical concepts are conveyed within the stories. In these miniatures the depictions of Alexander the Great and Philosopher Aristoteles represent rare iconographies not just for Ottoman but Islamic painting as well. Firāsetnāme miniatures represent the original iconographies of the genre in Ottoman art.
