How religion and morality are related: A concise literature review. 2. Uluslararası Sosyal Bilimler Kongresi 23 Mart 2018 içinde (41. s.). Kudüs, Filistin: Son Çağ Yayınları.9.78605E+12https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.12154/458Classical theories on the relationship between religion and morality claim that religion strengthens morality and suppress the negative emotions of the individual. However, empirical studies can have different or contrary results with these classical theories. Both religion and morality have complex elements and the different combinations of these elements pave the way for different religion-morality relationships. A detailed examination of the studies on the religion-morality relationship is essential to highlight the future studies conducted in this vein. In our study, several studies during last fifteen years in the English literature were examined. Out of this brief review we identified four basic categories regarding religion- morality relationships: (1) religion positively influences morality; (2) religion negatively influences morality; (3) There is no meaningful relation between religion and morality; and (4) the relationship between religion and morality is complex. Overall, our review highlights the multidimensional structure of both religion and morality.y.eninfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccessReligionMoralityPro-socialityCooperationAltruismHow religion and morality are related: A concise literature reviewConference Object41
