A brief religiously-adapted cognitive behavioral therapy intervention for Acute Stress Disorder (ASD) after Kahramanmaraş earthquake in Türkiye: A case series
(Springer Nature, 2025) Toprak, Taha Burak; Özçelik, Hanne Nur; Işık, Hatice Rumeysa; İnsan ve Toplum Bilimleri Fakültesi, Psikoloji Bölümü
Background: After earthquakes, disaster survivors frequently experience acute psychological distress and require time- and resource-efficient, accessible, and culturally sensitive interventions. Integrating religious values into psychological interventions may enhance acceptability and effectiveness in such contexts. Methods: This case series aimed to develop a brief religiously-adapted cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) intervention program sensitive to religious values for individuals experiencing acute stress symptoms. Seven earthquake survivors with acute stress symptoms participated. The DSM-5 Acute Stress Symptoms Severity Scale was used for initial screening, and the Stress Symptoms Subscale of the Posttraumatic Diagnostic Scale (PDS) was used to assess symptom severity at pre-intervention, post-intervention, and at 1-week, 1-month, and 1-year follow-up. Participants received a 5-session, 2.5-week intervention designed in consultation with religious authorities and trauma experts. The study was conducted in March 2023. Results: The intervention appeared to contribute to a notable reduction in posttraumatic stress symptoms. On average, participants exhibited a 46% decrease in scores on the PDS Stress Symptoms Subscale following the intervention. These improvements were sustained across all follow-up periods. Conclusions: The brief religiously-adapted cognitive behavioral therapy intervention for ASD appears to be a feasible and practical short-term approach for reducing acute stress symptoms and potentially preventing the development of PTSD in post-earthquake populations seeking religious-sensitive psychological care.

Corporate digital responsibility and environmental outcomes in services: Mediating effects of ESG performance and green reputation, and the moderating influence of electronic word of mouth
(Wiley, 2025) Keski̇n, Halit; Tatoğlu, Ekrem; Akgün, Ali E.; Esen, Emel; Yönetim Bilimleri Fakültesi, İşletme Bölümü
This study examines how corporate digital responsibility (CDR) influences environmental outcomes in the service sector, focusing on the roles of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance and green reputation as mediating factors. It also tests whether electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) moderates the relationship between ESG performance and environmental outcomes. Data were collected from 233 employees across 65 service firms and analyzed using structural equation modeling and bootstrapping techniques. The findings show that CDR contributes to environmental performance both directly and indirectly through enhanced ESG practices. Green reputation further reinforces the connection between CDR and ESG performance, while e-WOM strengthens the effect of ESG performance on environmental outcomes. Together, these mechanisms illustrate how responsible digital practices, when supported by organizational credibility and employee engagement, can improve sustainability performance. The study offers an integrated framework linking CDR with environmental outcomes and provides practical insights for managers seeking to align digital initiatives with sustainability goals.

Gendered confidence gaps and empowering future STEM careers: Insights from expectancy-value theory
(Springer Nature, 2025) Berisha, Fatlume; Kolgjini, Julie; Berisha, Elma; Kolloni, Yllza
High school is a formative stage in which students make pivotal decisions about pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Guided by Situated Expectancy-Value Theory (SEVT), this study investigated how social support and motivational beliefs shape STEM aspirations among 332 grade XI and XII students in a developing country. Structural equation modeling and path analysis revealed that teacher support significantly predicted both STEM interest (β =.627) and Confidence in STEM Knowledge (β =.489). Interest was the strongest predictor of STEM knowledge (β =.492), mediating the relationship between teacher support and students’ perceived competence. Deviating from prior research, parental support was not a significant predictor, suggesting that its influence may be contingent on cultural and contextual factors. Gender differences did not emerge in perceived support or interest but were evident in Confidence in STEM Knowledge, with boys reporting significantly higher confidence than girls. These findings extend SEVT by underscoring the variability of motivational influences across contexts and demonstrating the role of teacher support in post-conflict and resource-constrained environments. The study enhances SEVT’s explanatory scope, providing evidence for policymakers that targeted professional development and STEM initiatives can foster equitable participation and guide STEM pathways in comparable settings.

Omnisubjectivity as a divine attribute from an Islamic perspective
(Catholic University of Louvain, 2025) Kikanovic, Kemal; Doko, Enis; İnsan ve Toplum Bilimleri Fakültesi, Felsefe Bölümü
The paper aims to demonstrate how the concept of omnisubjectivity can be drawn upon in an attempt to solve philosophical problems pertinent to the divine attribute of omniscience in the Islamic context. Notably, we will address the charge that the concept of omniscience is logically impossible and incoherent. We will argue that omnisubjectivity could be an attribute of God in the Islamic paradigm. Furthermore, we will show that this attribute can be inferred from the primary Islamic source; the Qur’an, and that it sufficiently responds to the historical problems in terms of understanding omniscience faced by Islamic philosophers and theologians. We will argue that omnisubjectivity fulfills the conditions of both groups without facing common problems. Lastly, we will mention the benefits of adopting this model and show some philosophical and theological implications within an Islamic framework.

Aircraft cargo loading planning: A systematic literature review
(Inderscience, 2025) Kuşakcı, Ali Osman; Ibrahim, Mahat; Mbowe, Baboucarr; Ayvaz, Berk; Ağbaş, Erdem; Yönetim Bilimleri Fakültesi, İşletme Bölümü
Air cargo has become one of the most important means of transportation. This importance is currently being reinforced by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has dried passenger traffic to historic low levels. As a result, airline companies have turned on air cargo as the lifeblood to keep their operations running. However, the process of loading cargo on cargo aircraft is a complex task carried out by experts called loadmasters. It requires hands-on experience because the correct loading affects the balance and fuel performance of the aircraft. The problem in the literature is referred to as the air cargo load planning (ACLP) problem. In this research, we employed a systematic literature review framework that clusters the existing relevant literature into their respective solution approaches and presents a more transparent idea about the state of the current literature, the gaps, and the shortfalls of various solution methodologies.
